WASHINGTON (AP) — Police have found no threats at a Washington hotel where hundreds of evangelical Christians in the city to hear from several GOP candidates for president were evacuated from a ballroom.
Officials at the Faith and Freedom Coalition event say police have finished their sweep of the main conference ballroom.
Metropolitan Police Department spokeswoman Aquita Brown says the all clear has been given.
The ballroom was cleared earlier Friday after police told conference organizers there was a credible threat of danger in the room. Attendees were moved to another part of the hotel.
The threat came on the second day of the organization's three-day conference.
Attendees evacuated calmly from the room where five Republican presidential contenders spoke earlier in the day. One was to speak later Friday afternoon.
