The 31-year-old Orange Is The New Black star instead wore a low-cut pantsuit that emphasized her curvy figure.
With gold accents and some incredible heels, it was impossible to miss the Emmy-nominated actress at the Los Angeles event.
Her hair loose and hanging in long curls down the length of her back, Laverne managed to combine a bit of simplicity with the glamorous look.
Gold jewellery - dangling earrings and multi-chained necklaces hanging low on the chest - accentuated the look, while Laverne went for smoky eyes and natural-hued lipstick for her makeup.
The pantsuit itself had a blazer-style top worn open to the navel, where a gold-accented belt held the fabric in place.

'I am so deeply honoured to have been asked to be part of the Madame Tussauds legacy,' Laverne said in a statement released earlier in the week.
'When I think about being who I am, a black trans woman from a working class background raised in Mobile, Alabama, this honour feels even more improbable and extraordinary,' she added.
On the carpet, Laverne stopped to pose for photos with actress Zendaya (left) and TV personality B. Scott (right)
