Judging by the colourful ensembles on show on Thursday evening, summer has well and truly arrived.
And it appeared to be a Britain's Got Talent head-to-head as Alesha Dixon and Amanda Holden battled for the fashion crown as they arrived at the ITV Summer Reception in London, along with a host of other TV favourites.
The ladies both pulled out the sartorial big guns for the evening, both wowing in their pastel-shade dresses, each with a very different style.

Alesha, 36, was a delight in a pale neon lime green, yellow and cream dress, with a low-plunging neckline and a fitted design that kicked out into a flirty little frill on the hemline.
The decorative and notably youthful frock was snug on the singer and TV star's svelte curves, while the mid-length allowed her to show off her seemingly endless pins.

It was a look fitting for a summer BBQ, and she finished it off with a simple pair of gold strappy sandal heels, and an extra pop of colour with a bright pink splash on her lips.
The Britain's Got Talent beauty finished her look with her bobbed brunette locks coiffed elegantly into sleek curls.
However, she wasn't the only star to make an impression upon their arrival at the party, hosted by ITV boss Peter Fincham.
Alesha's BGT co-star Amanda, 44, dazzled as she stuck to her typical glamorous aesthetic, going for gold in a full-length gown.
The hot peach number skimmed closely to her lithe physique, with a natty little tied-up detail over her cleavage.
And, as is much the fashion this season, she showed off pretty much all of her slender leg thanks to the daringly high slit up the long, flowing skirt, poking her pin through on purpose for good measure.
The presenter posed in her exquisite gown, which wouldn't have gone amiss at a fancier affair, such as a red carpet event or awards ceremony.
Nonetheless, she pulled it off with aplomb, with the grace of somebody who is secure with their figure and striking looks.
Look ladylike like Lydia in a tulle skirt from her own collection
The ITV girls are a glamorous bunch, so naturally their summer party was a stylish affair. From presenters to reality TV stars, each and every one made a special effort for the occasion.
One of our favourite looks of the night was Lydia’s pretty pastel ensemble. A typically ladylike look, the TOWIE star opted for a lilac tulle skirt teamed with a matching top, baby blue heels and a pretty pink bag.
Lydia’s ballerina-esque skirt is from her own spring/ summer 2015 collection. A snip at just £45- click right to get your hands on one now!

Wear it with a coordinating top and pumps like Lydia for a ladylike, chic look, which is perfect if you've got a summer wedding or day at the races coming up. Alternatively, team with biker boots and a leather jacket to give it a tough edge.
The blonde stunner finished her evening visual with her blonde tresses worn down in loose, beachy waves with a perky pink shade on her lips.
Alesha was all-smiles as she stepped out, just days after being criticised for her rendition of the National Anthem at the British Grand Prix.
Opening the race with the National Anthem, the former Mis-Teeq hitmaker was slammed for singing the song in an American accent and for also changing the words from God Save The Queen to God Save Our Queen.
Following the backlash, the mother-of-one defended herself on Twitter, claiming she merely chose to sing 'a particular version'.
She vented: 'There's a difference between getting the words wrong and choosing 2 sing a particular version! Boring story, very sad! #don'tp**sonmyparade.' (sic)
Having put the embarrassing incident behind her, she looked joyful as she went to spend the evening with her colleague Amanda.
Both lovely ladies were pitted against each other in the style stakes night after night during the latest series of Britain's Got Talent in April and May, but it's fair to say they both hit the fashion jackpot at their most recent showing.
They well and truly led the glamour at the star-studded party, which saw stars from the top ITV shows rock up in their finest seasonal garb.
TOWIE stars Lydia Bright and James 'Arg' Argent were a sweet couple as they made their way into the private venue, hand-in-hand and looking as smitten as ever.
Lydia was another pastel-clad lady at the soiree, looking ever-so chic in a lilac and cream tasselled gown with a sheer tutu-style skirt.
The slightly retro garment was a flattering cut on the 25-year-old TOWIE star's slim frame, and she added to her pleasing look with baby blue shoes and a powder pink bag.
Her boyfriend James, 27, had scrubbed up well for the night, in a smart-casual outfit of grey trousers with a natty red jumper layered over a shirt.
Their co-stars Jessica Wright and Bobby Norris weren't far behind them, Jess in particular wowing in a tiny white dress with a cleavage-baring V-neckline and a flirty skirt.
As ever, the 29-year-old made the most of her best assets - her long and lean legs - elongating them even more with simple nude heels.
Bobby, meanwhile, went all-out in a pair of vibrant printed trousers and a blazer, rocking up with his shades on for good measure.
Colour was most certainly the theme of the evening, as pregnant TV and radio star Fearne Cotton wowed as she made a characteristically trendy addition to proceedings.
Walking side-by-side with her best friend Holly Willoughby, the 33-year-old made waves with her fun turquoise t-shirt dress covered in what appeared to be an array of paint splashes, almost hiding her growing baby bump.
Keeping it on the quirky and youthful side of things, the mum-of-one finished her look with a pair of towering platform sandals and her fair hair tied into girlish bunches.
Going for a more grown-up look for the shindig, curvaceous beauty Holly, 34, opted for a figure-hugging black lace dress, a perfect style for her enviable form.
Proving that she loves a super-bright, Myleene Klass was perhaps the most eye-catching of the lot, looking hot in a slinky orange bandeau dress with a large Broderie anglaise-style overlay.
The scalloped edge of the hemline was a flattering length for the 37-year-old, who added height to with a pair of snakeprint platforms.
If she was feeling at all tired from her busy lifestyle, which saw her attend Arqiva Commercial Radio Awards the previous night, she didn't show it, as she arrived along with her colleagues looking bright-eyed and as flawless as ever.
It was a warm summer's evening, and this was reflected in the style of pretty much all of the famous faces who spent their Thursday evening together at the ITV bash.
Presenter and I'm A Celebrity! star Melanie Sykes went for a pretty outfit, covering her leggy, lithe figure in a floral frock that wouldn't have looked out of place at a countryside wedding.
And the Loose Women ladies all went for colour, colour, and more colour in their looks, as did presenter Alison Hammond.
Good Morning Britain star Susanna Reid, meanwhile, opted for a more casual get-up, covering a belted floral dress with a denim jacket.
Susanna's morning co-star Charlotte Hawkins showed off her post-pregnancy figure in a lovely little black dress with a shiny silver panel down the front.
And it wasn't just the female guests making an impression, as the TV gents rocked up in their own stylish way, too.
Mark Wright and Stephen Fry opted for smart suits in pale summer shades of grey and stone, while Ben Shepherd and Andi Peters went for more dressed-down appearances.
Small screen icon Richard Wilson was another star guest at the summer party, which appeared to be the place to be in the British capital as the cream of UK TV grouped together for the night.
