Say what you will about Donald Trump, but the former Apprentice host and NBC personality has the best interests of Miss USA's pageant contestants at heart. At least in his opinion. Hours after filing a $500 million suit against Univision for breach of contract, Trump, 69, chatted with Bill O'Reilly about how Univision and NBC left the beauty queens high and dry by severing ties with Trump and deciding not to air the pageant.
"I'll tell you what's really sad, on behalf of NBC and Univision: We have 51 of the most lovely women you've ever seen right now in Louisiana, and they have been abandoned by NBC and Univision," Trump fumed in the O'Reilly Factor interview on Tuesday, June 30. "I'm going to work it out so that the show goes on, but they have been totally abandoned."

Though pageant co-hosts Cheryl Burke and Thomas Roberts bailed after the Trump controversy — which stems from some comments the Republican presidential candidate made about immigration — the Miss Universe organization still plans to hold the Miss USA pageant on July 12, and stream it live for fans on MissUniverse.com/MissUSA.
As indicated by his massive lawsuit, Trump is fighting mad at Univision, with whom he had a contract to air five years' worth of pageants without termination. "They didn't even call me. They terminated me with a PR statement," said Trump, who argued that NBC was angered that he chose to run for president instead of continuing to host The Celebrity Apprentice.
Despite the firestorm of controversy Trump's comments over border control and immigration have caused, the aspiring politician has no regrets and does not take back anything he said when announcing his run for president. "I love Mexican people...I also respect Mexico, but Mexico is doing a tremendous number against the United States," Trump argued. “I'm not angry at Mexico, because frankly, their representatives and leaders are smarter than ours. I'm angry at our country for having such bad negotiators and such bad leaders."
