A burlesque dancer who claimed to have slept with President John F Kennedy and had a scandalous affair with a Louisiana Governor has died aged 83.
The story of performer Blaze Starr - who was born Fannie Belle Fleming - and her relationship with Governor Earl K. Long was the premise for the 1989 'Blaze' biopic, starring Paul Newman.
The pair were inseparable after the notoriously colourful politician made a move on her after visiting the Sho-Bar club in New Orleans, where Starr was the top draw.
