Michelle Obama was welcomed with a heartfelt embrace at an east London school today as she visits Britain to issue a plea for more to help the world’s poorest girls get educated.
The U.S. First Lady today met pupils at Mulberry School for Girls to highlight her campaign to make girls’ education ‘an urgent economic issue’.
Mrs Obama's arrival at the school comes after she was welcomed for tea with Prince Harry at Kensington Palace this morning along with daughters Sasha and Malia and her mother Marian Robinson, 77, who has also joined them on the two-day trip to the UK.
The Palace said Prince Harry was 'delighted' to meet the Obamas, where they discussed their shared interest in support for veterans and their families, and a photograph of the meeting expected to be released this afternoon.
